LECTURE ABSTRACT

HO: Modern ceramic restorations and most efficient bonding protocols

Description of lecture | course:

Growing spectrum of indirect restorative and luting materials often creates confusion regarding their indications and clinical procedures necessary for a long term success. Failing to understand properties of materials and their relation to clinical steps often leads to technical misuse and clinical failure of restorations.

In this indirect restorative course students will learn to set clear indications in various clinical cases, choose restorative and luting material, as well as how various factors affect performance of a cement and how to make them work in our favor.

Within the hands-on each participant will get to practice step-by-step cementation protocol, including ceramics selection, preparation of the stump and restoration, try in, bonding procedure and most efficient excess removal necessary for success.

Course content:

  • Indirect restorative materials: properties, indications, limitations of each
  • Clinical challenges in choosing the right luting protocol and how to solve them
  • Preparation design and how it affects the choice of cementation protocol and material
  • Step-by-step clinical guide for cementation of an inlay and veneer (evaluating the esthetics, try-in, luting protocol and removal of the excess material
