Peri-implant tissues augmentations and bio-mimetic implants in aesthetic areas.
The goal of modern implant dentistry is to re-establish aesthetic and function of non-maintainable or lost teeth with minimal invasiveness and time.
However, is well-known dental extraction causes evident shrinkage of the edentulous ridge, which can lead to poor aesthetic results of implant treatment.
Different surgical and prosthetic approaches can be used to preserve hard and soft tissues when a tooth need to be extracted like immediate implants, immediate loading, ridge preservation, guided bone regeneration and bone/soft tissue grafting. In favourable cases, the immediate implant/immediate loading/soft tissue grafting approach is one of the most effective treatment, whilst in more challenging cases a delayed approach with combination of different grafting techniques can be preferred.
In this scenario, biomimetic implants allows a quick osseointegration in 3-4 weeks and peri-implant bone preservation over time, providing the clinician with a useful tool for advanced implant treatment in aesthetic areas.
The objective of this lecture is to show how to mange different aesthetic demanding clinical situations with tissue reconstructive therapies and biomimetic implants.
