Dr Luis Bessa is the founder, clinical and scientific director of IRON Clinic, Porto Portugal.
Dr Luis Bessa has graduated from ISCS-N (Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde do Norte) in 2008. Since surgery has always been his passion, he has continued his education in UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), receiving his degree of specialist in Oral Surgery and Bucomaxilofacial Traumatology, and a title of postgraduation in Orthognatic Surgery from the Brazilian College of Oral and Maxilofacial
Surgery, in 2012.
Education is also one of Dr Luis Bessa interests. Apart from participating as a speaker in several international conferences since 2012, he has been the head of the Maxillofacial Surgery course in University Fernando Pessoa in 2013, and he is currently an invited professor for Implant Dentistry Posgraduate course at ISCN-Cespu, Portugal.
Dr Luis Bessa has been working in his own practice in Porto, Portugal, as a oral surgeon and have a strong focus on minimal invasive ridge reconstruction with autologous tissues. Currently he is part of White Clinic’s team in Lisbon, as the head of the Oral/Reconstructive SurgeryDepartment, where he practiced advanced digital dentistry protocols to enhance the outcome of the treatments.

Managing aesthetic zone withs dental implants is one of the most challenging and demanding treatments in dentistry.
Success in implantolgy does not mean anymore just to have a fixed restoration above the implant. Patients are looking nowadays for aesthetic and invisible restorations. Pink aesthetic scorer is one objective method to evaluate our final outcomes. After tooth extraction, ridge collapse is a well accepted phenomenon. Many procedures are described in the literature with high level of success , like ridge preservation; but when we are talking about rebuilt and have long term success, autogenous hard and soft tissue still the gold standard. During the lecture we will systematize the minimal invasive approach to each case, considering hard and soft tissue augmentation in , rising small and partial thickness flaps and utilizing tunnel techniques , in order to have the best healing patterns and scarless surgery maximizing our outcomes.
