How to build the ridge architecture in esthetic implant reconstructions.
The loss of a tooth is always followed by bone resorption, which inevitably leads to changes in the soft tissue architecture. Nowadays, the demand for high esthetics and natural looking restorations is very high, patients are well informed, and many times the clinician will face a challenge when considering a restorative treatment in the esthetic zone.
Since we are not only replacing the lost tooth, but also the bony support of the root and the surrounding soft tissue, clear biological principles must be followed during the treatment in order to hope for good esthetic and also functional restorations for our patients.
The aim of this lecture is to provide clinical guidelines and to pinpoint clear technique related landmarks for a predictable outcome. The main focus will be on the diagnostic phase, illustrating with clinical cases the decision making algorithm for each scenario.
